If you are looking for the most scenic and relaxing travel experiences, join us onboard a 130-passenger river ship on the Douro River through northern Portugal, into the Douro Valley, with a short stretch into Salamanca, Spain, known for its historic university and architecture. Imagine yourself sitting on the deck, sipping wine or coffee, and watching the riverbanks slide by. As the ship passes through the locks and bends in the river, you will see olive and almond trees, old stone houses, and vineyards that are carved into steep hillsides in the terraces. The landscape feels rural, quiet and timeless. We will also be exploring the city of Guimaraes, known as the “cradle of Portugal”, the narrow cobblestone streets of historic Porto, and a visit to the World of Wine Museum in Gaia. So come join us on one of Europe’s most distinctive tours of the Douro River.
